District Profile
Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 84 was created by the Texas Water Rights Commission, now the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (the “TCEQ” or the “Commission”) on April 24, 1963, and operates pursuant to Chapters 49 and 51 of the Texas Water Code. By legislative action in 2001, the Texas legislature ratified the boundary of the District containing 765.7019 acres. Since August 2007, a total of approximately 429.59 acres of land have been annexed into the District, resulting in the District’s current total of approximately 1,195.29 acres of land. The District is located entirely within Harris County, Texas, approximately 15 miles northeast of the central business district of the City of Houston, Texas. The District is located within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston. The entire District lies within the Channelview Independent School District. Sheldon Road traverses the District from north to south. Woodforest Boulevard is located south of the southern portion of the District. Wallisville Road is located north of the northern portion of the District.

Board Members
The District is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of five (5) Board members elected by the registered voters of the District, who manage and supervise all affairs of the District. Board members must either own property within the District or be a registered voter within the District. Each Board member is elected to serve a staggered four (4) year term. The District’s current Board members are as follows:
